Starting a Bug Tracking thread as requested.

On my hosting site www.beamingpix.com I set the upload resize limit to 800x600 and the default 2MB limit. A couple of users were able to upload larger dimensions, i.e. - 4032x3024 at 3.07MB. I found the large image in my cPanel (I’ve already resized it to 800x600 using Scaler). When I personally try to upload any image over the parameters I set, I get the following message: "File too big.". I downloaded the 3.07MB image and tried to upload it through my account at my site and was stopped with the File too big error.

I asked the person who uploaded it, how they did it, this is their reply:
“On my iMac I exported the photo from iPhoto to a folder on my desk top……when doing so I have the choice of size….I chose small jpeg on all. It was taken with an iPhone and was 5.4 meg when in Iphoto

Then uploaded to beampix….however the file size is only 1.6 meg in the folder on my desk top…..no idea how it grew…...”

If anyone has an idea of what could be wrong, please assist. If I need to provide more information…I apologize in advance for not doing so. Let me know what you need and I will provide it. My site isn’t open to guest uploading, but I could enable it for testing purposes.

Thank you,
Focker

Did you noticed the image row values in the database? Did those values reflect another resolution or is the same res as the original file?

I hope I can answer your questions.

Here is an image that was uploaded today from a user:
http://www.beamingpix.com/images/2017/07/25/CAM01625.jpg

I saved the image to my computer and it's demensions are 2592x1944, size = 845KB. When I upload it directly from my computer or using the image's URL it passes and isn't resized to my 800x600 setting.

When looking at the "Full info" through the BeamingPix Admin Dashboard the dimensions are - 2592x1944, "size formatted" = 865.5KB.

When looking at the image through my TMD cPanel the dimensions are - 2592x1944, "Size" = 845.21KB.

Strange happenings?

The uploader's image is gone form my cPanel and his album.
All the images in the directory (dated today) start with - "rsz_img_20170713" or "rsz_img_20170724", then the actual image name. Last modified Today at 10:44am.

I haven't done a thing? I did email the user to call me so I can him some questions to see if he did something?

Thanks,
Focker

This was tested by one of my users and I'm happy to report that you solved it...You're very good at what you do.
