V3 thumbnails

No, thumbs must be fixed. That is why exists the medium size.
 
Can you explain why? What are the benefits of them being cropped?
As for the medium size, i need them to be ~200px wide/high, which will mess with the home page.
 
Thumbs needs to be fixed to fit universal css styling. For anything else use the medium size.
 
OK, i looked around and the only places i saw the thumbnails being used are on the albums page and the image page if the image is part of an album.
But still i don't see why the thumbnails can't be uncropped, you could do the same thing as on the home page and hide the overflow.

They are just fixed size and they have been fixed since 2.0

It won't change.
