Twitter doesn't show uploaded image for link preview when flagged NSFW

WFT my original post was deleted? Not cool. 😠

So I've got Chevereto installed successfully.

I have a use-case to share NSFW images on the site.

When these images are shared to Twitter, Twitter doesn't show the image but the site's landing page background image.

I would expect the image to be shown in the link preview regardless whether it's flagged as NSFW or not.

All I know is the first post disappeared and didn't show up anywhere. The URL to the first post was returning 404 Not Found. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The URL to this post has stayed. Even while waiting for approval to be posted.
