The Title says it all.
It Would be very helpfull to have images stored into SubCategories.
Helpfull for the owner to Categorise Images in more detail,
and so helpfull for the Visitor to browse images to find more precisely what he wants to see.

I think that the way to go is with tags, otherwise we will have endless sub-categories.
 
I think it would be a good idea to, alongside this implementation, to give a clear explanation of what to use categories / subcategories, and what to use tags for.... so as to avoid the follow-up ask for sub-sub-categories 😉
