Storage

What are all y'all using for storage these days? Straight storage that came with your server? S3? S3 Compatible?

Looking for recomendations,

If your local hard drive is large enough, you can certainly use a local hard drive, but otherwise S3 is recommended.😎

S3 compatible storage is a scalable option and has a low upfront cost.

I am hesitating between BackBlaze B2 and Cloudflare R2.
In my case, they cost about the same. The factor that influenced my choice was performance, but I don't have a good way to test them.😿

If one day my instance can grow to be very big, I would use local storage.
To be more precise, maybe a dedicated server run an intranet NFS service and mounted it on the web server.
Any object storage is much slower than local storage when uploading images.
Of course, the above only exists in my imagination, maybe NFS is not a good solution.
