  1. perform update from https://siteurl.com/update
  2. half way, it said update failed and the site throw error Theme path G_APP_PATH_THEMESPeafowl/ doesn't exists. and no longer load

Make sure that all files reflect the update. There could be cache in your filesystem affecting files.

If nothing works, try doing a manual update (manually provision the update files).

i followed the manual instruction to manual update the site, however after extract the files on the system and go to the main url, i got

Chances are that the process was halted. If you find anything odd just let me know, maybe I've to review your installation directly.
