Is there a way to prevent a image being seen too much.

Someone posted a image on a forum that gets 10s of thousands of views and our server couldn't keep up.

It would be nice to see a way to limit image views at one time or per minute. Something to throttle if the image gets posted to a massive site.

The direct hits on static files is handled by your server, not by Chevereto. This is because Chevereto runs on top of the server layer.

You should limit the hits, set cache control, maybe use a CDN and use external storage.

On the server side you should use nginx instead of Apache.
