I upgraded from 3.4.6 to 3.5.0 then I got this error. I overwrite everything excluding the themes pages folder.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '[' in /home/user/public_html/app/loader.php on line 123

Any fix? Thanks!

I think the problem was Arvixe, I set the public_html folder to PHP 5.4 and it worked again, the problem is it's asking for my database information again like its a new install.

I think I messed up the upgrade process. What I did is deleted app, content and lib folders, including .htaccess and index.php then reuploaded 3.5.0 files.

I just found out that I deleted settings.php as well. Good thing I backed up.. I reuploaded settings.php again on app folder then upgrade process worked.. wew

Yes very close, it's always a good habit to backup files. Thanks for this script Rodolfo, it's not complicated especially for normal people like me. 🙂

Another thing Rodolfo, since I deleted everything aside from the images folder, the only thing I reverted back is the settings.php and theme. Is there something I need to double check? All settings are saved on the database right? Thanks!

That should be fine but there are changes in the theme files.
