"imageinterlace($image, 0);"

Has anyone found where to inject the code "imageinterlace($image, 0);" ?

In the latest GD update, imageinterlace has to be declared now. Thus, pngs are no longer able to be added unless they have a declared interlace like that.
 
attached is an example of an interlaced png.

Can you please link the GD release notes where it mentions that imageinterlace needs to be called as you are stating? Where you got this info?
