Image rotation issue on upload

Hello,

I installed Chevereto on my website today. When I upload a portrait image of dimensions 3648 x 5478 , it automatically gets rotated to the left side after completing the upload. Why does this happen? Can I disable the automatic rotation?
 
The automatic rotation is applied when the EXIF information shows that the image needs to be rotated. This is done to properly handle the image.
 
Solved. It appears exif support was missing in my PHP installation so I recompiled PHP with that module. Everything works fine now.
