Image recognition via third-party services

I've just discovered this Google service which detects contents inside each image and works pretty well. For the kind of service that it does (detects texts, labels, faces, nudity, violence, etc.) is quite cheap.

You can check it out here: https://cloud.google.com/vision/

Amazon also has something like this: https://aws.amazon.com/rekognition/

To put some math on this, 1,000,000 uploads/mo will cost you $1,000 while 15,000 uploads/mo will cost you $15. It all depends on your monthly upload volume.

What you think?

Looks interesting, saves alot of time & it can categories your images if the user does not specify a category on upload. I'd pay for this integration!

Just uploaded a Very random picture of Rihanna out and about last night with her face barely showing and it identified her. That's some pretty cool stuff. I'd definitely be down with the service.

Yeah, this is a real jaw dropper. It is almost frightening, how good it works. However keep in mind that all data goes through a third party. Not everyone is cool with that.

Currently paying someone to do this same job. My site gets 100,000 images a month. If in future this gets cheaper I can switch to this.
