google drive for storage

Hi, I have just a question: Can't we use google drive for storage? I have google workspace account and with that I having good amount of space available on it. So I thought If it's possible then it would be a plus point.

Google Drive is a per-user personal storage option which is not intended to be used for systems like Chevereto. That's why google offers Google Cloud Storage.

Google Storage so expensive, can you add Google Drive option? I think so many users like it too.

As already mentioned, GDrive is a PERSONAL storage and not accessible to all. For this reason, the storage there is unsuitable as storage for Chevereto, since no one else will see the data than the uploader.

Not only is a bad idea, it is a terrible idea for an image host. Google has some unspoken restrictions when it comes to downloads from Google Drive, and since you'll be loading images using Google Drive's direct image API, it'll very quickly be hit.

You will then encounter errors while loading and or uploading, as there is a 5-700GB limit per month. Object storage is the better choice in this instance as well, seeing as it's a direct URL to the file, and not a generated hash.
