Explore might need a "max" image size limit?

Hello!

I have the explore set to fluid because I like the "Pinterest" like look with different sized images. But every so often someone uploads a very tall image which throws the entire masonry off and it never recovers.

Scroll down the page and you will see a huge empty spot. Mainly because there is that one image on the left which is very tall. http://hostimageforfree.com/image/zP

Typically users of the site don't upload that tall of an image, but on occasion this happens and then the only option is to delete the image (which is not fair to the person who uploaded it).

I'm wondering if there should be a field in the settings to limit the image size also when using the fluid display? If it is too wide, or too long, it would just crop or scale the image.

Any suggestions?

Actually a max height won't solve this issue. Problem is that the thing works by "columns" and it doesn't try to fill the gaps when it comes to cases like this.

Right thing to do will be to detect where to fit the images to prevent situations like these.

It only seems to do this when it comes to really long/tall images, that is why I thought maybe a limit on that would fix the problem. Is there anything I can do? Or are you considering some options on this Rodolfo for a future fix/change?

thanks!
Eric

If two or more tall images are sent to the same column you will experience the same issue. That's why limit the height won't do that much.

I guess I will have to change it from fluid design to fixed for now. Maybe in a future update that can be looked at so the fluid design flows better?

Thanks!
Eric
