To be honest, I'm not entirely happy with this upload service so far. Is there any way to modify the thumbnail appearance so that the ENTIRE pic shows up in it rather than just a cropped section?

Admins should be able to use "AUTO" as an option so they can determine one preset and then CHVgenerates a true scaled down version of the original image.

This way it looks professional when embeded in forums and websites. Thumbnails present in Imagebam, imgur, imgbox, someimage etc are true scaled down thumbnails of the original pictures. It simple looks more professional, more complete. Viewers can see the ENTIRE picture and not a partial version.

Thumbnails will be always fixed size because that is what a thumb IS. Medium sized images will be always fluid (either width or height) because in that way you can have an standard, for everything else users are free to resize each image they upload.

Also, imgur also generates fixed square thumbs so I don't know what I'm missing here. They don't even have medium sized image at all and Chevereto generates the same codes as they do.

Regarding the medium sized thumb sizes this is what I mean so you can visiually see what I am trying to explain.

The "professional look" just a personal subjective opinion. Using your argument then... Does the bottom looks more pro to you? or does top more "pro" to you?

Isn't that easy to tell.

You are talking about something subjective and everything flagged as subjective should be understood as something that some people will like and some people will hate. That said, I don't have any problem to add an option to use either fluid widths or heights for the medium sized image.

Thank you. If visitors are using the CHV system internally, it's not an issue because your system will beautifully align all images; just like the picture you should me. But for external embedding in forums and website pages, they don't always have this luxury and bb-codes will resemble my screen-shot, it looks messy.

That's why I want our thumbnails codes to look premium, I want visitors to see the full picture thumb and not just a partial or a hard-cropped thumbnail. So my answer, to your question would still be your bottom image. Humans simply find symmetry attractive. It's the way we're built. If one of angelina jolie's eye was two inches lower than the other, I doubt we'd see her in Tomb Raider. Sadly this is the way the world works. lol

Thank you for implementing this!

Spotted one minor issue whilst giving this baby a test-run (it may have been like this in the previous version) but the medium images don't align in one fluid "continuous line" (i.e left to right), instead they all stack up vertically like so:

When I checked the embed codes, they are also not in a continuous line. Maybe CHV could have this "checked" as a default option at the end? E.G:
