Allow users to connect their external drive to the site.
For example, I'm not an administrator, I have a site site.ru, I connect it to someone else's chevereto on FTP, as a result, all direct entries will be on the site chevereto, and pictures are downloaded from the user's site 🙂
 
Ok but why would you want that ?

Do you mean as a backup or an export, or something like that ??

if a person wants to store their files at home. Afraid that the administration will remove them.
 
It could be used to import images, but not for storage. Google prefers you using Google Cloud Storage for something like that.
