Its sounds really stupid but no choice i have to ask you guys for help.
I want to update to new version of Chevereto 3.6.4 but i don't know how to do it? There is guide but last time i tried to do it i end up with blank white screen on my site https://chevereto.com/docs/update-guide

please how can i update without losing everything?

thanks

You don t need to loose nothing .
Backup your files , without "images" folder : /public_html/images
Download the update and replace all files .
Acces yoursite.com/install .
Done .

If you have a custom htaccess , replace them after update.
Also if you have the custom footer, albums on index etc ..you need
to edit the /public_html/app/themes/Peafowl/header.php after the update .

If the problem is blank white screen you need to put this code in your root .htaccess file
AddHandler application/x-httpd-php54 .php54 .php

What will happen to my custom edits and footers etc?

Does it mean i have to add the footer, header all the CSS codes i have edited back in the new update?

Am still very confused? All i want is to update without loosing my Custom edits?

If you use theme overrides you only need to change when something new is pulled, in this update only the header <html> tag should be updated from the default theme.

Hey folks, I am having a more difficult time with this than I probably should. Perhaps I am just used to WordPress updates...anyhow. When reviewing the guide it says - Upload all the files and folders from "chevereto"

I have the newest version on my desktop...where am I uploading all the files and folders from "chevereto" to? I want to be sure that I do this correctly as I have spent a lot of time working on my site already. Thanks!

If your remote path is something like this: <something>/public_html/ you need to upload the contents of the "chevereto" folder to that location. If your website path is something like public_html/gallery/ you need to upload the contents of the "chevereto" folder to that location.
