Change external storage to local while keeping URL mapping?

Hi -

I have a setup where external storage is using SFTP to post to a local folder (it's above the public_html folder), but it throws "Can't connect" errors occasionally that make me think it's getting overwhelmed with connections and timing out. I've asked the host to increase the max connections, but that's only a temporary fix.

Otherwise the setup is great, because I can point a different domain to the uploads folder and get proper URL rewriting.

Is there a way to keep the storage path and the mapping unchanged, but let Chevereto know that it's a local folder so that it bypasses SFTP?

Upcoming release (v3.11.0) will feature:
  • Virtual external servers (allows to map any URL to a local folder)
  • SEO friendly URLs
  • PUP support for WoltLab forums
I believe that virtual external servers does exactly what you are asking for.

meanwhile you can move the images to local storage(recommend zipping and unzipping into directory), uncheck active on the external storage, edit it and change the "Mapping" to the image urls aka for me it would be

https://kenzato.uk/booru/images/ instead of the previous google cloud storage url, if it dosent allow you to change the mapping manually change it in your sql database

😉 It is a clever way to fool the system long as that storage remains inactive (no new uploads). Chevereto will only use it to map the image URL, problem is that deletions won't work.

Yup but atleast you can keep the images up until the new update comes, this was very useful for me when i noticed how google cloud where going to charge me 160+ dollars a month because of the traffic my images racked up, hope the update comes soon <3
 
Wait a second, made a mistake on the storage type. Backend is working but not the gui. Don't update yet.

OK now, sorry for the trouble.
