Can I install chevereto on MySQL low version?

It should work in 5.6 but don't get used, the software requirements will always aim for the latests library versions.

Constant development is not feasible if we stick too long in old tech.

Awesome, hope that at some point they update MySQL to 8. 😉

If your server load is significant enough that you need to downgrade to an inferior SQL product... You should honestly switch to MariaDB or Cassandra. They're better on resources and workloads then MySQL.

I use MariaDB, and I deal with over 40 million visitors a month, and millions of hosted images. My CPU is barely touched. On MySQL the CPU would be stressed.
