Bulk Import Issue

Good morning, everyone.

Has anyone come across an issue (4.12) with the bulk importer? I uploaded files into each of the folders in /importing (/no-parse, /parse-albums, and /parse-users.

When I attempt to kick off the cron job, I get the following error.

1715088255 - [Thread #0] Updating importing status to canceled (the error must be addressed)

I attempted the following troubleshooting steps.

Changed owner of the files to be imported to www-data - same error
Changed permissions of the file to be imported to 0755 - same error

Here is the cron command that I ran.

sudo -u www-data php /var/www/html/app/bin/legacy -C bulk-importer

The issue is missing writable permission, here's the relevant code:

            if (!$fileinfo->isWritable()) {
                $this->logProcess("Path $pathName is not writable, the job #" . $this->id . " must be canceled", true);
                $this->edit(['status' => 'canceled', 'errors' => '1']);
                $this->logProcess('Updating importing status to canceled (the error must be addressed)');
                $killed = true;
                break;
            }

You need to double-check these permissions.

The importer works if I set the owner of the files to be www-data. So, could I change ownership of /no-parse, /parse-albums, and /parse-users to www-data, and have it work as expected?

It should, try running chown www-data: /importer-path -R
