Blank Page after upgrade 2.5.6 -> 3.6.8

Today I tried to upgrade my Chevereto site from 2.5.6 to 3.6.8

I used these steps to do the upgrade:
Update from 2.1 and newer
1. Save the DB connection info from includes/config.php
2. Save the __CHV_CRYPT_SALT__ that you have in includes/definitions.php
3. Upload all the files except for the images folder
4. Go to your website, the system will ask you for the DB connection info
5. Complete the process with the required information
6. The system MUST ask you for your __CHV_CRYPT_SALT__. If not, don't continue the process and ask for support

After performing these steps I got an Internal Server Error 500
I've solved this error by removing Options +FollowSymLinks from .htaccess

Now I got just a blank page and have no clue how to solve this.

I also did a clean install on the same server (on a separate domain) and the clean install works, so I assume serverside all settings are correct.

I've enabled debugmode, but the error_log is empty.
The access_log has the following entry:

500 errors are usually caused by htaccess where some rules or modules aren't loaded.

You will need to send me FTP access and I will lookup your website tomorrow, we are out of support hours.
