Amazon S3 and Cloud Flare?

I know this sounds like a silly question and it's most probably not feasible but just for my peace of my and so I don't have to use my brain juices too much and think this out....

If i'm using Amazon S3 services surely I cannot use Cloud Flare to save on bandwidth if i'm going to be changing DNS's to S3?

What about using Cloud Flare to protect the website from attacks such as DDOS and to protect the website (not images hosted on S3).

Can S3 and CF be used in conjunction in such a way i've described above or not quite? Or am I talking rubbish confusing myself?
