Description of the issue
I realise that you have closed the previous thread but perhaps I was not clear enough on the issue and I also now have more information.
This issue relates to swipe scrolling of the thumbnails in listing view.
Firstly this problem occurs only with a user logged in that has Admin rights.
Has occurred on two different 10" Android tablets that I have tried.
Occurs only when the page is opened with the tablet in landscape mode. In this case the script interprets the tablet as a Notebook (5 images abreast but also with 3 or 4 abreast when I set it that way) .
Does not occur if the page is opened in portrait mode (like a phone), in that case I believe the software views the device correctly as a tablet.
Occurs with an iPad emulation (using a development browser on a PC) I have not tried it on an actual iPad.
Occurs with both Firefox and Google Chrome browsers on different devices.
Replication.
First log in with Admin rights and the tablet in landscape view.
Explore all images in thumbnail listing view
(Notes: Their must be sufficient images that not all are visible on the screen,
the browser must not be in Desktop mode.)
Any attempt to swipe in order to scroll the images using a touch swipe will result in one or more of the images being selected. The page will not scroll up, or if it does scroll will not scroll completely.
Strangely enough using two fingers, one low on the screen fixed and the other swiping makes the screen scroll up.
If the browser is changed to Desktop mode the selection box will appear in the top right corner of the image and must be touched to select the image. In Desktop mode swipe scrolling functions because the touch swipe does not select an image.
If the page is opened in portrait view the problem does not occur.
A single touch opens the image in medium view, as one would expect.
Suggested solution:
Change the behaviour of the script when it interprets the device as a notebook so that the touch on the thumbnails is the same, and the icons on the right of the thumbnail are the same as in phone, tablet (portrait), or desktop mode.
Alternatively create an option to disable notebook view which would force the script to use tablet or desktop view instead.
I believe this issue may also effect individual users, without admin rights, when browsing their own photos with a 10" (or more) tablet but I have not tried it myself. I also believe that the problem may occur on a notebook with a touch screen.
Apparently this behaviour of tablets when in landscape view is to use notebook view with many apps and it has caused problems in some instances.
I hope I have made the problem sufficiently clear this time and that I have provided sufficient additional information that will allow the issue to be resolved.
Thanks
Peter
