About the datefolder rewrite

I know that the uploaded image of Chevereto are stored on folder which name by YYYY/MM/DD.
This folder structure is good, easy to backup, but it disgusting and long for display.
Does any idea to using rewrite url like imgur.com?
For example, when user entering
Code: 
https://i.example.com/ABCDE.jpg
It rewrite to below url without "changing the url"
Code: 
https://example.com/upload/2018/01/13/ABCDE.jpg
