Akismet Dashboard Editing User

  1. Dashboard user editing.
  2. When editing a user profile (via dashboard).
😢Unexpected result

Spam can become deleted when trying to edit a user profile. Example case: A member signed-up as spam to boost SEO (with bio and website info). When trying to remove (clear) via editing the user (/dashboard/user/XXXXXX/profile) and make the profile private clicking Save changes triggers "Spam detected" error box - I personally think admins/dashboard editing should by-pass spam checks and should only apply to users editing their own profile (/settings).

I think this is Akismet doing not StopForumSpam. StopForumSpam is only for blocking spam sign up if I am right.

Had similar issues reported by users when they tried to update image description and finally had to stop using Akismet.

That's very true! SFS only controls register. I've updated the threat title.

I disabled Akismet and it allowed me to edit the bio successfully. I would still like the dashboard route to bypass this though (personally).

I've added a checking that will trigger Akismet only for non content manager actions (admin is also a content manager). The fix will be available in v3.17
