Heres a few free uptime sites that I like to use that will email me when a site is down.

https://www.statuscake.com It has user load time. has a free plan that can check every 5 minuntes and can test for other things like dns and smtp. can even back down if there is slowness in the site.

https://uptimerobot.com Really simple, has a free plan.

I know theres like 100 other sites out there, there is even a way to do it thou google docs.
 
I've been using uptime robot since forever and it works great for me.
 
1 check, that's all the free you get... they have been moving away from free. They don't even link to it from there main page anymore.
