With PNG format, the file size of medium and thumbs is higher.

For example a original png 8 image of 20KB (600px) is getting resized to 110KB(500px) in md and 20KB(160px) for th

And png 24 of 30KB to 58KB and 14KB

How to fix this ?

You don't understand, when you chop an image you don't get either the same quality or similar file size. This is because is an automated tool without human inspection.

That said said, at this time it can't be achieved with the current image libraries.
