I am sure there is a good technical reason why we are capped at 8 threads per upload, but we should be able to override those of us with multiple CPU, NVMe storage.



Perhaps put a disclaimer stating anything over 8 is not supported.

When using HTTP 1.1 the connection if often capped to 6 streams, that makes anything up not relevant. When using h2 there's no cap on streams so there's no point in this hard cap.
 
Yes. This limitation is only at the HTML and can be easy bypass by live editing the HTML form or by directly altering the setting key upload_threads.
 
It looks like you can edit it in the database, however you can then no longer make changes in /dashboard/settings/image-upload, as you cannot save
