Upgrade done website is down

I haven't done any update after 3.8. waiting for other reviews before i uprgrade. However, i can see that my website is down today. Is it due to the auto-upgrade?

What's meant by auto upgrade? will this automatically upgrade my installation? I have an issue with .htaccess file and i will have to patch it everytime i upgrade.

I tried my level best and still website is down..
I had issues with .ht access from version3.75 onwards and you advised to use below code. Since my website is down, i have uploaded all changed files to server and tried to upgrade to 3.8.3 to see if that fixes my problems.. no use. still it's the same. can you please advise..

i checked my hosting company trouble shooting wizard, and it says:

Problem    An internal server error occurred on http://cellarpix.nfshost.com/. Usually this is due to a problem with a script or .htaccess file.
 
Chevereto doesn't automatically update itself, you need to manually run the update tool via the dashboard to update to the latest version or do a manual update (ie. upload the new files).

If your site was offline without you pushing "update" on the dashboard or uploading the new files, then the issue would likely be outside Chevereto all together unless you were editing files manually.

You should check your server log, hopefully you can do that via your web hosts control panel (I never used the host you are using).
 
There are lots of issues that can cause this. What have you changed recently before the update?

Has your host changed PHP versions? Do you have older PHP versions on the server as well as newer versions?

Are all your file permissions set correctly?

Chevereto doesn't have auto update. You will need to dig your server error_log.

I've fixed your website, it seems that you uploaded /app/lib to /lib and that caused static resources to don't work properly.
