SSL ? for what ?

Hello guys ,
I see that many clients have a SSL installed ,
the question is : do we really need a SSL on a simpe uploading images site ?
Just asking...
 
Waiting for https://letsencrypt.org to start up there stuff. Free certs when they get things going.

On the side note some people put SSL as the be all end all of website security. Its little bit of the part of having a secure website. Mostly to combat man in the middle attacks and exposed passwords, but it will not help you if someone hacks your Wordpress install.
