Should app/install folder be removed

I noticed that my server has an ../app/install folder that seems to refer to v. 3.x files and updates. In the ../app/install/update/temp folder there is also a folder entitled chevereto which holds a complete copy of the Chevereto files (I have not investigated which version)

Since the v. 4.x zip file does not include an ../app/install folder I am thinking that this entire folder is a remnant from v. 3.x which can be safely removed.

Is this correct?
