Running install on subfolder 500 error

On installing the script in subfolder, versions 3.7.5 and 3.7.4 are throwing up a 500 internal server error(tested on two different servers). While 3.7.2 and 3.7.3 are showing install page.

What changed from 3.7.3 to 3.7.4 ?
 
You will need to be more specific. Error 500 is "internal server error" and that could be anything. Try investigating server error_log file.
 
It says

SoftException in Application.cpp:256: File "/path_to/index.php" is writeable by group

Permissions error
