Recommended LOGO size / dimensions?

Hi all, I'm about to have a logo designed for my site and I've been playing around on my own, but can't figure out the best size / shape and how to describe it to a designer. I understand how to change the setting in the dashboard and/or update CSS to make things work.

Can anyone recommend what to tell a designer when describing the needs?
  • It seems that like the default Chevereto logo, it almost needs to be a "wordmark" - ie: text or at the very least a wide rectangle. What would be the maximum sizes?
  • Transparent. PNG or maybe a vector SVG
  • Letters should be compatible for contrast against a variety of backgrounds
Can it be different on mobile/desktop easily?

Any other advice?
 
131x20 is the logo shown in the default installation and any wide logo at 20-25px height should look good. Not too wide logos or it will look very small.
