I find it strange that every picture that a user uploads appear in the http://mydomain.com/user .. I think there should be a feature to disable the gallery/album feature. The user should be only able to see his/her own images and albums but the complete album should not be visible by the whole internet.

Some people like me just want to share particular images with particular people. I dont want the whole Internet to see them.
 
At this time the system has built in privacy tools that works based on the album privacy so any user can set:
  • Visible to everybody
  • Visible only for content owner
  • Visible only for those with the link
The user determine if the upload is private or not and on top of that, admin can override the global system privacy.
 
Thanks for your reply back. Wow! I just spotted that little lock while uploading the image.

1- Even if 1 image is uploaded with privacy lock it creates an album?
2- With privacy lock enabled, the album is marked as 'private (only me)'. Private with links is not there?
3- If the users goes to http://mydomain.com/user .. how can he mark any image private? Or collectively some images as private? Same goes for the admin, may be the admin wants to mark some of the images by some user as private (only me) or private (with links).
 
Pirvacy layer is built on the album layer, so the privacy can't be set for individual images. By default the private uploads are visible only to you (as a security feature) but you can change the privacy anytime.
 
Private profiles will be added to v3.7.5 + option to don't list user images in listings.
