Non-English user name support

Because most of user in my website are Chinese people, they want to use Chinese user name, whether the program can do it?

Users can have any char as their name but the username must be alphanumeric because username goes in the URL and any non alphanumeric will be converted to unicode which doesn't look usable at all.
