Hello,

Purchased this today and am running into some issues installing. I am following this guide here for the cPanel installation, php 7.4 is confirmed and I've followed all the steps for extensions. Yet I can't seem to get around this error to begin my installation, any direction here would be appreciated.

Once you redeploy your PHP extensions to get fileinfo as per the note above please keep in mind:

  • cPanel's latest bundled GD library no longer includes interlace PNG support. So if you upgrade to the latest GD library you will lose interlace support.
  • Deploy cPanel 7.4 if you plan on using external storage. Currently cPanel 8 blocks external storage on Chevereto due to a deprecated argument (will likely be fixed in v4).

Is there a bug report for that one?
cPanel says it is not a bug. For Chevereto I didn't file a bug report because you said in an announcement it isn't PHP 8 ready. So I didn't submit one, because it was on a PHP 8 test 🙂 I can more thoroughly test Chevereto's unique feat ures on a PHP 8 environment for v4 if you'd like

Where you got that info? Perhaps is just provider related not cPanel? I'm sorry but I wasn't able to find anything besides this: https://support.cpanel.net/hc/en-us...should-be-turned-on-when-using-png-read-image
Rodolfo, in cPanel's default build they are at gd bundle 2.1 and cannot support anything above that in easyapache. cPanel decided to stay at easyapache and gd bundle 2.1 which gives them an older generation of libgen. There are bug reports, but the solution is not easy for cPanel users.

In order to combat it I'm actually in the process of dropping cpanel 100% over this.

Thank you Nick, I just needed confirmation before starting to expose this situation. I will remark this issue in the upcoming monthly project updates and newsletter.

By the way, can this be patched at chevereto code level? It will take years cPanel to lift a finger about this.

Yes it can be. I found it and bookmarked it I'll dig it up and send it over to you.
