Multi server support?

is it possible to host our images in multiple servers for example 200k imgs in first server another 200k in second and so on?
 
The multiserver support will be mostly a state of the art implementation. Instead of doing FTP upload or something like that, the system will have a server version of the script who will be listening to upload.
This also balances the load because there is no point in having multiservers if you don't balance the load. So the system will be pretty kick ass.
