Merging Old to New site

I have old domain running with Chevereto 2.0.17 (still functioning, have many guest users)

files are on /home/old/public_html/i/ (full image)
and /home/old/public_html/i/t/ (for thumbnails)

How to mount them in my new Chevereto 3.6.8 ?

files are on /home/new/public_html/i/ (nowadays, Chevereto using same folder for both image and thumbnails)

And then I would like to redirect the old domain using .htaccess to the new domain (by putting .htaccess on the old domain) so, example if user opening/embeded this URL http://old.domain/i/qwe123.jpg will be redirected to http://new.domain/i/qwe123.jpg

Is there any idea such this complex?
