How do i make the site public? im confused.

Just trying out the program and if i set it private in settings then visitors are asked to log in, if i set it as public visitors get "That page doesn't exist" on the homepage.

?

Being honest, just check your settings. The system is public by default but it all comes down to your own settings and custom editing. I can't try to guess what you did wrong. For example, if you set the homepage to "route explore" and at the same time you disable explorer, then it is obvious that you will get a 404.

Like I said, check your settings.
