You can check your logs of apache, it does pretty much the same thing...

Exactly what I think as well... I understand that IP logging in the script is easier for people to see...maybe...but Apache does a great job.
 
Although I will admit, raw server logs are not fun to look through if you have a busy site!

I can not disagree with you, but often, a search in your apache logs, is pretty easy to do, and you get the image uploader ip in 3 seconds...

Yep, it will be implemented on 2.1
 
V3 will have a enhanced error reporting method but the logs will be just like the apache log that you can find in your webserver.
