It doesn't work in that way.
Since Chevereto has lifetime license and you have access to all the upgrades is pointless to keep and eye on old obsolete things like the old template JS system. I assume that you are still using 2.3 because you are running a theme or a modification that doesn't work for 2.4. Sadly, I can't do much more about it because you have access to the newer versions.
