Landing Page Image Loading

I've been searching through the forums that look to be very active which is good news, but I can't find anything showing how to alter the index page so it loads the most recent 50 images or selects random images that have been uploaded.

Can this be accomplished without any custom coding?
 
This is just a pre-sales question since I saw there is no refund. Currently I don't have a site up but looking at chevereto for a photo hosting solution so along with user having the ability to upload images from the landing page I'd like to display the most current uploads, random pictures, or most viewed pictures.

I just wanted to see if this is possible without alot of custom coding.
