jquery version is too old

I don't see why it should be updated, it doesn't arise any security bug or incompatibility.
 
We are implementing new features to chevereto and we faced some limitation with front-end development. For example we have added tagging feature for each picture. unfortunately tags-input is not supported with jquery v 1.10.

Also, for the front-end I can’t use semantic UI or bootstrap elements hence they require higher jquery versions.
 
Jquery is an stand-alone file, simply use yours but consider that just like that tags thing isn't compatible, chances are that some of the existing JS will get broken.
