Installer not found in subfolder of domain

I have the following problem - I want to install Chevereto in a folder instead of the domain itself, that is in baukultur.pictures/bilder instead of baukultur.pictures

When using the domain baukultur.pictures itself, the installer works without problem, when using baukultur.pictures/bilder, the installer tries to invoke https://baukultur.pictures/install which then displays "404 Not Found The resource requested could not be found on this server!"

Do I have to change something in the htaccess file to make this work? The same directory structure worked fine unter Chevereto 3.

Solution
There is no mention of a subfolder in the installation instructions. I assume that it is designed so that it is only possible via the domain directly (have never tested it otherwise).

Alternatively, you can create a subdomain (which points to the appropriate subdirectory) and perform the installation there.

Maybe you can also set a corresponding variable in env.php
Code:
'CHEVERETO_HOSTNAME_PATH' => '/yourdir/',

This is very frustrating, as v3 worked with subfolders just fine for years and v4 broke it. I've had such a headache trying to get upgraded to v4 as a result.

Will this ever be fixed? Now, it is possible to install Chevereto in a subfolder, but once you open another page than the start page, nothing is found or displayed.

I've been able to install in a subfolder by altering 'CHEVERETO_HOSTNAME_PATH' => '/yourdir/', but the main issue is when logging in, it doubles up the directory when going to the dashboard so instead of site.com/yourdir/ it goes to site.com/yourdir/yourdir with a default "page does not exist" framed within Chevereto. From there I can navigate fine.
