Important : Protected mode

Hi

I think it is important to have this in the script as soon as possible. We all do know that there are plenty of Chevereto users who need “protected” content and that there is no 100% protection.

What I been using on my wordpress sites is working flawlessly for years and most photographers are using too as a plugin. All it does is below :

Disabled right click
Disabled context menu on mobile
Disabled drag-n-drop
Disables any form of loading the page in another page/
And some other preventation techniques making it impossible to use commonly used options to download/scrape, steal our users content.

I would like to see a “protected mode” for those users who buy this script not for mass uploads and downloads. Recently reported the files opening with full filepath on small screen/mobiles and it looks completely out of place compared to the quality experience the site offers by default. If you ever think about models, photographers, anyone working for those images they DO want basic protection since most don’t even upload them to any social media for this reason.

Thank you

Honestly, you can't do much against scrapping in any form. Disable a link or a click somewhere is just to prevent normal people from doing it. Someone who do scrapping will find an easy way to do it no matter how hard you try, the only workaround is to set the website in private mode.

Have you noticed that the "Save page as" can't be removed from the web browser? People can use that to easily take your images. I'm just saying that the browser based protections doesn't exists as real protection.

@knova15 if you need a perfect protection then you should not put the images on web at all and there is no work around for this. (you can limit it using few tricks.... like enter a code to see full image or something like)

Hi

well i started it soo : “protected” content and that there is no 100% protection.

im not talking about full protection. see it this way. browsing users dont know more than a few methods only. also most users DO worry for their photos. if there are a basic protection mode etc they feel re-enforced and happy. if my users are happy to upload all their photos im happy too.

something to keep in mind. 99% of the users are NOT thinking as an admin or programmer. the script in the end of the day is meant for the users of the site right ? so it does NOT matter what we think 😉
all our users/uploaders are the No1 to keep in mind not what we think. im a photographer as a profession too and i use watermark simply. i dont moan about this att all for this very simple reason. but beginner shooters, models do care about it till they learn this basic rule 🙂

Honestly I don't see this as an urgent thing. Rely privacy or protection in that the right click is disabled is not the right way to see this. Right click, download and other things has toggles just because that is comfortable for some persons.
