Idea how to fight again porn and unsafe....

Hi,

I saw many of chevereto clients finding a way to deal with their hosted images. Sometimes advertiser does not like site with adult or unsafe content. Here is my idea to chevereto developer.

1. Create a "Selection" options for albums or images. Which mean user can add any images they like but only selected items will show advertisement like Google Adsense. Or item group as "porn" will show adult advertisement.

* You can earn $ in either safe or unsafe content.

2. ( Stupid way) Each upload will fill by moderator system. Only safe content can save in chevereto system.

Guys think about it. Sorry for my bad English. ;)

I don't share how you see this because you can't 100% trust in that users will do exactly what you want. You will have some users that follow the rules and other just don't. That is the key element that causes the need of moderation tools. However, Chevereto will include a SFW/NSFW filter but like I said it helps but it doesn't solve the problem.

Also, I think that host porn side by side with family pictures is wrong even if you have a flagging system. Is my personal opinion about that and some of you may share it and other don't. But if your goal is an image hosting website to make money with ads then you should just disavow the system for that and delete + ban the users.

Now, my personal preference doesn't affects the development of the system. And Chevereto will feature moderation tools, flagging system, report system, etc. Then you decide how you take the best from this tools and your content policy to make your job easier. So if you for example allow any kind of content then you will have more job to do. Is that easy to understand how works to maintain a website.

At the end you need a lot of help, tools and manual inspection. You can't rely 100% in just one of those.
 
I think that by default we shoud disable showing guest images from home page. When register user upload porn images to public, then ban for him and all images.
