HTTP ERROR 500 error after updating from 3.17 to 3.18

▶ Reproduction steps
  1. I am getting an HTTP ERROR 500 error after updating from 3.17 to 3.18. I updated via the dashboard. It downloaded the update then caused the HTTP ERROR 500 error when applying the update.
    I don't see any errors in the server logs. The site worked well with 3.17.

The website responds with a 500 error for the entire site.

I looked everywhere I could find for errors. Here's where Cpanel showed:

These only appeared after the fact when I tried to access these directories directly from a browser.

Those errors arent errors. You are not supposed to access those pages. That's why you get denied by configuration. So these are not actual error you have got causing 500 internal server error.

I have one suggestion, remove .htaccess or rename it. If the site loads once after, then there is something in .htaccess that host forbids.
