How to use bulk importer available in Chevereto-free

Hello,
This is my first post and newly joined member.

I'm currently using Chevereto-free edition using nmtag's docker image. After installing, how do I point application to read from an external folder which has images? I saw a 'bulk import' option, but it is parsing ./importing directory which is not available in their docker image. Any help?

Also, can I install Chevereto-free without docker using the latest release 1.4?

Thanks,
Chin
