How show like in demo?

First question, perhaps in wrong department.

When I look at the demo and compare to my own, there is a big difference that I cant find any settings for. I want the homepage be like in the demo, with a background image and then the images shown under. No Profile name or picture, just the background and the the menu with New, Old etc and then the images. How do I set this
