Hello,

This is a very crucial feature. I am surprised to see that the system suggests other users to see the private album (anyone with link) and images when any of the links is shared from the album.

This is not an ideal way to set an album to private mode. These suggestions should be turned off for Private albums. Users don't want anyone with the access to one of their image from private album to go through all of their images. I have already registered few requests from my users while its only been 2 months in the service.

I think I didn't express my correctly. What I am asking is to turn off those suggestions for Image view when user lands to the image link:

For example - I have an image with the link domain.com/image/abc in album xyz. I shared that image with one of my friends and he opens it in his browser - domain.com/image/abc, That's good. However, when scrolls down he can see the link to the album <-- This is bad. The album suggestion should be turned off by default for everyone except the owner if the image is from the private album.

I am not asking to restrict users to access private folders, which is entirely a different thing and it is already handled perfectly at the album level. If I want to share the private album with anyone I will exclusively send him the album link, why throw it in open for everyone?

P.S. - sorry for my bad English.

Like I said, permissions works by album, not images. I won't change that, it has worked in that way since forever.

I think the main point of contention is that albums are organizational tools for images from a front end perspective more so than a backend (or posting user) perspective. Which means that if you want 'individual' level privacy for each individual image in that way you'd need to put them in their own individual albums with their own individual privacy settings. I know that might not seem ideal but that's kind of how it's designed. If you want individual image 'link' privacy you shouldn't be putting them in albums with other images.

The very act of doing that is 'grouping' them together. It may seem like you're making it easier for yourself privacy wise (Easily setting the privacy for all the images) but as Rodolfo said, it's by design.

Lol! I just noticed that Chevereto does exactly what I was suggesting in the OP. It turns out my album was set to "public" mode and I was thinking it is set to "private". My bad!

Setting the album back to private hides those suggestions. It is just perfect. 😀

I did't remember that the system does that. LOL! x 1,000,000
