Hello! I am trying to copy my files to S3, but, it's proving to be a gigantic mess. I've come across about 40 sets of these:

If you'd notice, the 5 digit letters are exactly the same. This is causing an issue when I'm trying to copy from my backup file storage device on Windows, that assumes capitalization is not unique. Thus, I cannot safely copy my files to a Windows Machinea s a viable backup before I move everything to S3.

Do you have any advice on how to handle this? I've come across 40 sets of names like this thus far.

Thanks! Transferring these to S3 now while I have less than 30,000 files sounds like a good idea now rather than later!

Would using a virtual machine be a good option?

Using Ubuntu inside a VM should work well for you, it will be a bit of a learning curve though I am afraid.

Thanks all!

Well, I should learn to use Linux sooner rather than later so one day I can look back at it and wonder why I didn't do it sooner!
